Vadodara Airport CBRN Mock Drill: CISF Strengthens Radiological Emergency Response

VADODARA, March 20, 2026 — In a proactive move to bolster aviation security, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) spearheaded a comprehensive multi-agency mock exercise at Vadodara Airport.

The drill focused on a high-stakes CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) threat scenario, specifically simulating a radiological emergency.

The exercise was centered at the airport’s Cargo Complex, where teams managed a simulated spillage of radioactive material categorized as UN-2910.The primary objective of the operation was to evaluate the real-time preparedness and coordination of various stakeholders involved in airport safety.

By simulating a complex leak, the CISF and participating agencies were able to test their joint response mechanisms, ensuring that emergency protocols remain seamless and effective during actual contingencies.

This exercise highlighted the “Unity in Action” approach, showcasing the CISF’s ongoing commitment to building resilience and maintaining swift emergency management capabilities across India’s civil aviation installations.
