UDHAMPUR 05 September : In response to the severe infrastructural crisis gripping the Udhampur district, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has actively intervened to accelerate relief operations.

The minister recently held a crucial discussion with Udhampur District Commissioner Saloni Rai to evaluate the extensive damage caused by recent natural calamities and to chart a coordinated response strategy.Taking to the social media platform ‘X’ Dr. Singh provided a detailed breakdown of the situation and the administration’s planned measures. A primary concern is the complete isolation of several peripheral areas, including Latti, where roads have been extensively damaged or entirely washed away, rendering them impossible to reach by conventional vehicles.

To overcome this critical logistical barrier and prevent a humanitarian crisis, the minister announced that special arrangements are being mobilized. The administration is working on deploying helicopters to airlift essential supplies, such as food and medicine, to the marooned populations in areas like Moungri. Dr. Singh emphasized that these aerial missions are contingent upon clearance from the meteorological department and will be executed as soon as weather conditions permit safely.

Additionally, the minister addressed the grave issue of displacement, confirming that for families who have lost their homes entirely, the district administration is identifying and exploring appropriate alternative accommodation and rehabilitation options. This multi-pronged approach highlights the government’s efforts to provide immediate relief while also planning for medium-term recovery in the affected regions.
