Reasi,19 October : During routine patrolling on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) track within the jurisdiction of Police Post Banganga, the police party reached near Bathing Ghat No. 02, Ban Ganga, where one person working as a pony carrier was stopped for checking.Upon questioning, the individual disclosed his identity as Billu S/O Manda Ram R/O Panjar, Tehsil Panchari, District Udhampur.
When asked to produce a valid license or authorization for operating as a pony carrier, he failed to provide any such document. During enquiry, he admitted that he did not possess an authorized or registered pony service card and was operating illegally, assuming he would not be questioned.By working as a pony operator without proper authorization or registration on the SMVD track, the individual has violated the SDM Katra Notification governing registered service providers.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 283/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Katra Insp Khyatiman Khajuria under the close Supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Vipan Chandran.
