Udhampur Volleyball Tournament Concludes: 137 Bn CRPF Promotes Sports and Community Wellness
UDHAMPUR, MARCH 10, 2026 — The 137 Battalion of the CRPF, headquartered in Udhampur, successfully concluded its high-energy volleyball tournament today at the SIKS Government Higher Secondary School.
Organized in collaboration with the Volleyball Association Udhampur, the event reached its peak during a thrilling final match between Barta Volleyball Club and Roun Domail Volleyball Club.
The competition, held under the Civic Action Programme, featured a display of exceptional athletic skill and team-building spirit, coordinated by CRPF personnel and local coaches.
The closing ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering, including Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta, and Commandant M.K. Sicon, alongside senior officers from the CRPF and J&K Police, local educators, and sports association executives.
Beyond the volleyball court, the 137 Bn CRPF demonstrated its deep-rooted commitment to social welfare by hosting a concurrent blood donation camp at its SRTC Campus.
In an impressive show of solidarity and service, 50 CRPF officers and jawans stepped forward to donate blood, aiming to save lives and support local medical resources. Local residents lauded the battalion’s efforts, noting that such initiatives significantly strengthen the bond between security forces and the community.
As the event wrapped up, community leaders urged the CRPF to continue organizing similar sports and humanitarian programs to empower the youth and foster regional harmony.
