Udhampur Police Seize Car Worth Rs 10 Lakh Belonging to Srinagar Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act
Udhampur, January 31, 2026: In a continued crackdown on the narcotics trade, Udhampur Police has attached movable property worth approximately Rs 10 lakh belonging to an inter-district drug peddler.
The property, a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire (Registration No. JK01AW-2817), belongs to Abrar Javid, son of Javid Ahmed Sheikh and a resident of Lasjan, Gundbal, Srinagar. The attachment was executed under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, following the establishment of the vehicle as a direct proceed of crime.
The action is linked to FIR No. 210/2025, registered at Police Station Rehambal under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act. During the investigation, authorities conducted a rigorous financial scrutiny and backward link analysis, which proved that the accused had acquired the vehicle using illicit funds generated through the trafficking of narcotics.
Following these findings, a formal attachment order was issued today to facilitate further legal proceedings.This latest seizure brings the total value of NDPS-related property attached by the Udhampur Police this year to Rs 1.50 crore.
The department remains committed to dismantling the financial networks of drug syndicates and ensuring that assets gained through illegal activities are strictly confiscated.
