UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 05, 2026: In a major crackdown on the narcotics trade, Udhampur Police today attached immovable property worth approximately ₹30 lakhs belonging to a known drug peddler, Bhopesh Pagetra, a resident of Dandyal. The action was executed under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, following investigations into FIR No. 24/2026 registered at Police Station Udhampur.

The seized assets include a residential house constructed on five marlas of land located at Ward No. 21, Dhandyal, along with specific household items identified during the probe. The investigation revealed that the property was acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.

Authorities established sufficient grounds to prove that the assets were a direct result of criminal activities, leading to the formal attachment of the land and building for further legal proceedings.

This move is part of a broader strategy by local law enforcement to dismantle the financial networks of narco-smugglers and deter individuals from participating in the illegal trade.

This latest seizure marks a significant milestone for the district’s law enforcement, bringing the total value of NDPS-related property attachments in Udhampur to ₹1.80 crore for the current year alone.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to a “zero-tolerance” policy against drugs, emphasizing that they will continue to target the ill-gotten wealth of peddlers to ensure a drug-free society.
