Udhampur police secures conviction in NDPS case within record time of 2 months

Udhampur 28 November :- The case pertains to FIR No. 139/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of PS Rehambal wherein during patrolling at Phalata on 13.09.2025, police patrolling team apprehended Janam Bhagat S/O Mohan Lal R/O Kambal Danga, Udhampur and recovered heroin from his possession, leading to registration of the case and initiation of investigation.

A thorough and professional investigation led by DySP(P) Tahzeeb Zehra Jawaid, JKPS ensured timely completion of all legal procedures.

The charge-sheet was produced before the Hon’ble Court within 2 months.After the due course of trial, the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Udhampur convicted the accused under relevant sections of the NDPS Act and imposed a fine of ₹10,000/-.
