UDHAMPUR 03 September :– In a heartening display of civic duty and compassion, the Udhampur Police became the guardians of stranded commuters after heavy monsoon rains triggered severe landslides, forcing the complete closure of the National Highway (NHW).
The arterial road, a critical lifeline for the region, was rendered impassable, leaving a significant number of truck drivers, Passengers trapped in their vehicles with no immediate means of assistance.
As the situation grew increasingly dire for those stranded without access to food, water, or shelter, Station House Officer (SHO) Purab Singh of Police Station Udhampur swiftly mobilized a team of his officers.
