Udhampur Police Crackdown on Drug Mafia: Drugs Worth ₹10.50 Crore Seized and ₹21 Crore Assets Attached in 2025
Udhampur December 31, 2025:- In a massive blow to the narcotics trade, the Udhampur Police has concluded a high-impact year under the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan,” resulting in the arrest of 222 individuals and the seizure of drugs valued at ₹10.50 crore.
According to the annual performance report, police registered 153 cases under the NDPS Act between January and December 2025, leading to the arrest of 203 smugglers and the booking of 19 hardcore offenders under the stringent PIT NDPS Act.
The offensive also targeted the logistics of the trade, with 77 vehicles seized and 12 pharmacies sealed for violating H1 drug regulations. Beyond urban centers, police teams destroyed illicit opium cultivation spanning over two kanals of land in the Panchari area.
The enforcement drive extended significantly into financial warfare against drug kingpins. Udhampur Police froze 56 bank accounts linked to peddlers and, in a landmark move, attached properties worth ₹21 crore in connection with 28 NDPS cases.
The prosecution wing also secured major victories in the courtroom, where 77 successfully litigated cases resulted in 98 convictions. This multi-pronged strategy—combining field arrests, financial choking, and legal conviction—reflects the department’s zero-tolerance policy.
Authorities have issued a stern warning that the attachment of properties and seizure of financial assets will remain a primary tool in dismantling the narco-mafia’s infrastructure in the coming year.
