Udhampur Police Attach ₹1 Crore Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act
UDHAMPUR, Feb 20, 2026: In a major strike against the financial backbone of the narcotics trade, the Udhampur Police has frozen immovable property valued at ₹1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler.
The property, consisting of a residential house situated on 01 Kanal and 09 Marlas of land in the Housing Colony area of Udhampur, belongs to Amjad Hussain, son of Manzoor Ahmed. The attachment was executed under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after a detailed financial investigation provided sufficient grounds to believe the assets were acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking.
This administrative action follows the recent detention of the accused under the PITNDPS Act, following which he was lodged in District Jail Kishtwar under a warrant issued on February 17, 2026. With this latest seizure, the Udhampur Police has now attached NDPS-related properties totaling ₹3.10 crore within the current year alone.
This aggressive approach highlights the department’s “zero tolerance” policy toward narco-smuggling, aiming to deter criminal activities by dismantling the wealth generated through the illegal sale of contraband and ensuring that the proceeds of crime are systematically recovered by the state.
