UDHAMPUR, Feb 11, 2026 — In a continued crackdown on the narcotics trade, the Udhampur Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered a significant quantity of heroin during a routine patrol in the Roun Domail area.
A specialized team from the Roun Domail Police Post was performing duties near the Blay Bridge when they spotted a suspicious individual traveling from Udhampur. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspect attempted to flee the scene in haste, prompting the alert officers to intercept and detain him.
The apprehended individual has been identified as Rahul Kumar, son of Singh Dass and a resident of Nallah Ghouran, Ramnagar (currently residing at Jojran Talab, Udhampur). During a thorough personal search, police recovered 5.75 grams of heroin from his possession.
Following the recovery, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 44/2026 at the Udhampur Police Station, invoking sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Authorities have launched a further investigation to trace the supply chain and identify potential accomplices linked to the suspect.
