Udhampur Philately Exhibition 2025: Two-Day “Udhampex” Showcases India’s Postal Heritage
Udhampur 18 December :- The Department of Posts has officially kicked off Udhampex–2025, a vibrant two-day district-level philately exhibition at Riwayat Hall in Udhampur.
Inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, the event serves as a cultural window into India’s rich history and civilization through the lens of postage stamps. Attended by senior officials, including Assistant Director Philately G.M. Shah and Superintendent Rajeev Sharma, the exhibition features a massive collection of over 2,000 rare postal stamps.
These displays span various historical periods and themes, offering visitors a unique visual narrative of the nation’s milestones and heritage.During the opening ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai emphasized that the core mission of Udhampex–2025 is to revive public interest in the postal system and highlight the immense educational value of stamp collecting. To engage the younger generation, the Postal Department has curated a series of interactive activities, including letter-writing competitions, stamp design contests, and philately workshops.
By transforming postage stamps into a “wealth of knowledge,” the event aims to inspire students and residents to embrace philately as a meaningful hobby that connects them to India’s diverse cultural and historical identity.
