Udhampur Honors Braveheart Captain Tushar Mahajan on his 10th Martydoum day
UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: A wave of solemn pride swept through Udhampur today as the nation marked the 10th death anniversary of Captain Tushar Mahajan (Shaurya Chakra).
A massive gathering, including senior officers from the 9 Para (Special Forces), army personnel, and members of civil society, converged at Tushar Morh to pay a heartfelt floral tribute at the martyr’s statue.
The atmosphere was one of deep reverence as citizens from all walks of life stood alongside the bereaved family to honor the legacy of a soldier who epitomized the spirit of “Service Before Self.”Captain Tushar Mahajan made the supreme sacrifice in February 2016 during a high-stakes counter-terrorism operation in Pampore, where he displayed extraordinary tactical skill and valor to eliminate terrorists entrenched within a government building.
Speaking at the memorial, his father and Chairman of the Tushar Memorial Trust, Dev Raj Gupta, expressed that while the loss is immeasurable, it remains a matter of immense pride that his son laid down his life for the sovereignty of India. He emphasized that the statue serves as a permanent beacon of inspiration for the youth, urging them to dedicate themselves to the unity and integrity of the country.
