Udhampur East: Senior Leader Pawan Khajuria Treks to Remote Villages to Address Public Grievances
UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: In a major grassroots outreach initiative, senior leader Pawan Khajuria concluded a rigorous two-day tour of the most remote and difficult-to-access areas within the Udhampur East Assembly constituency.
Accompanied by a delegation of activists and local leaders, including Captain Gopal Singh and Rahul Gupta, Khajuria traveled on foot to reach the far-flung villages of Bavey and Garh. During his visit, he engaged in direct dialogue with residents to assess their living conditions and address long-standing hardships.
By contacting departmental officials on the spot, he was able to provide immediate resolutions for several localized issues, reinforcing his commitment to ensuring that developmental benefits reach the “last person in the queue.”The interaction highlighted critical infrastructure gaps, with villagers raising urgent concerns regarding electricity, drinking water, road connectivity, and healthcare.
A particularly pressing issue brought forward by parents was the acute shortage of teachers in government schools, which residents claim is severely jeopardizing the quality of education for local children. Expressing serious concern, Khajuria characterized the lack of staff as an “injustice to the future” and formally urged the Education Department to fill vacant posts or implement temporary measures immediately.
Local residents lauded the foot-march initiative as a vital step in strengthening trust between the leadership and the community, noting that such personal engagement is rare in these high-altitude terrains.
