Udhampur Drug Bust: Police Arrest Two Peddlers with Heroin in Majalta Under “Drugs Free Udhampur” Campaign
UDHAMPUR, J&K | January 25, 2026 — As part of the ongoing and rigorous “Drugs Free Udhampur” initiative, the Udhampur Police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovering heroin in separate operations within the Majalta area.
In the first instance, a police team from PS Majalta patrolling near Middle School Khama intercepted a suspicious individual, identified as Saif Ali, son of Shukar Din and resident of Nakkhi Khoon, who was found in possession of 51.60 grams of heroin.
Following this, in a second successful intervention near Chatreri, the same police unit apprehended Nazir Ahmed, son of Raj Ali and resident of Dhamma, while he was traveling toward Manwal; a search of his person led to the recovery of an additional 5.33 grams of heroin.
Consequently, police have registered FIR No. 09/2026 and FIR No. 10/2026 under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Majalta, with formal investigations now underway to trace the broader links of these narcotics transactions.
