Udhampur District Fully Equipped for Intensive Pulse Polio Drive, Says CMO
Udhampur 18 December :- Udhampur is in a state of complete readiness for the upcoming Pulse Polio Immunization (PPI) drive, as declared by Chief Medical Officer Udhampur Dr. Anil Manhas.
This intensive three-day campaign is scheduled to commence on December 21st with booth-level activities, followed by a comprehensive door-to-door sweep on December 22nd and 23rd. The mission is designed to ensure that not a single child is left uncovered in the district’s fight against the debilitating poliovirus.
The primary objective is to administer life-saving oral drops to every child aged 0 to 5 years, safeguarding the future of the younger generation.To achieve this ambitious goal, the health department has established a robust network of 535 immunization booths, including 13 strategic transit points at high-traffic areas.
Dr. Manhas detailed an extensive mobilization of resources, deploying 1,044 dedicated teams consisting of 2,148 health workers and 110 supervisors. Together, they aim to reach a target population of 86,192 children across the district.
The CMO issued a fervent appeal to all parents and guardians, urging them to prioritize their children’s health by visiting the nearest booth to contribute to the collective mission of maintaining a polio-free nation.
