Udhampur DC Saloni Rai Drives Grassroots Governance with Public Outreach in Remote Block Parlidhar
UDHAMPUR, February 6, 2026 — In a dedicated effort to bridge the gap between the administration and the public, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, spearheaded a comprehensive public outreach-cum-grievance redressal camp at the far-flung Block Parlidhar.
During the interaction, the DC actively listened to concerns raised by former PRI members and residents from adjoining panchayats, who highlighted urgent needs such as the construction of a Patwar Khana building, a forest hut at Parlidhar, and a footbridge at Malti.
Key infrastructure demands also included the upgradation of the High School to a Higher Secondary level and the development of road connectivity and water supply at Dhanwalt.
Addressing the shortage of staff in local health and educational facilities, DC Rai emphasized that the primary goal of these camps is to deliver governance directly to people’s doorsteps and ensure a first-hand appraisal of grassroots challenges. She assured the community that all genuine grievances would be resolved in a time-bound manner.
The event also featured informative sessions from the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Husbandry departments, concluding with the Deputy Commissioner distributing saplings to local farmers to encourage sustainable agricultural practices and boost rural income.
