Udhampur Cyber Police Recover and Refund ₹5.27 Lakh to 19 Fraud Victims in February 2026

UDHAMPUR, March 4, 2026 — In a major victory against digital financial crimes, the Cyber Police Station Udhampur successfully recovered and refunded a total of ₹5,27,649.25 to 19 victims of cyber fraud during the month of February 2026.

This significant recovery was achieved through rapid technical intervention and seamless coordination with various financial institutions following reports of fraudulent transactions across the district. Notable beneficiaries of these recovery efforts include Mohd Rayaz Wani of Basantgarh, who received a refund of ₹2,21,045, and Jyoti Prabha from Ramnagar, who recovered ₹92,754, alongside several others from Dhanori and Channi Morh.

Highlighting the importance of the “Golden Hour” in cybercrime reporting, the Udhampur Police have once again urged the general public to remain vigilant against phishing and online scams.

Citizens are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious financial activity via the national helpline 1930 or through the official National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to ensure timely police intervention and the freezing of defrauded funds.
