UDHAMPUR, February 3, 2026 — In a significant victory against digital crime, the Cyber Police Station Udhampur successfully recovered and refunded ₹4,15,613 to 19 victims of various cyber-related frauds throughout the month of January.
The recovered funds were returned to residents across District Udhampur—including those in Mansar, Garhi, Majalta, Ramnagar, and Panchari—as well as victims as far reaching as Madhya Pradesh.
Refund amounts varied based on the specific case, with the highest individual recovery reaching ₹1,00,000, offering substantial financial relief to those targeted by scammers.
The successful recovery was attributed to the swift technical intervention and seamless coordination between the Udhampur Cyber Police and various financial institutions.
By acting immediately upon receiving reports, the specialized unit was able to freeze illicit transactions and track the movement of stolen funds.
Following this success, Udhampur Police issued a fresh advisory urging the public to remain vigilant against evolving digital threats.
Authorities emphasized that immediate reporting via the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or directly to the local cyber station is the most critical factor in successfully reclaiming lost money.
