UAE Air Defense Neutralizes Multiple Ballistic Missiles and Drones Amid Ongoing Aggression

ABU DHABI, March 5, 2026 — The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence announced today that its national air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed six out of seven ballistic missiles detected targeting the country.

During the same period, defense forces tracked 131 hostile drones, successfully neutralizing 125 of them, while six fell within UAE territory.

These interceptions are part of a broader defensive effort against a series of escalated attacks, with cumulative figures since the start of the conflict showing that 181 out of 196 detected ballistic missiles have been destroyed, and 1,001 out of 1,072 Iranian-launched drones have been intercepted.

Additionally, eight cruise missiles have been tracked and neutralized by Emirati forces to date.The Ministry reported that these recent hostilities have tragically resulted in three fatalities involving individuals of Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationality.

Furthermore, 94 individuals sustained minor injuries, representing a diverse range of nationalities including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, and Turkish citizens.

Despite the scale of the provocations, the Ministry of Defence reaffirmed its high state of combat readiness and its unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty.

The UAE remains firm in its resolve to confront any threats to its national security and protect its vital interests and citizens from further aggression.
