Two-Wheeler Rider Fined ₹5,500 for Hiding Registration Number with Tape; Public Cautioned Against Such Practices

Jammu,27 September :- Jammu( Rural)Police has taken strict action against two-wheeler riders indulging in concealing or tampering with number plates to evade traffic challans.Earlier today, a motorcycle with its registration number deliberately hidden with tape was noticed by Police official while traveling towards Ban Toll from Jammu.

The naka personnel at Ban Toll were immediately alerted and, acting swiftly, intercepted the vehicle. Assistance of Traffic officials deployed at the spot was also sought.The rider, operating a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02DP 1734, was fined ₹5,500 under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act by the Traffic Police.Jammu Police have urged the general public especially parents to counsel their wards against indulging in such unlawful activities.

Concealing, tampering with, or modifying number plates to avoid challans can attract heavy fines, legal action, and even seizure of vehicle.
