Two held with 345 Grms of Heroin in Jammu
Jammu, 22 December :- In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu Police, South Zone, achieved a significant breakthrough as Police Station Bahu Fort busted an inter-linked drug network and arrested five accused persons, leading to the recovery of a total of 345 grams of heroin (Chitta) along with electronic weighing machines and packing material.
On 20.09.2025, acting on a specific and credible input, a naka was established at Railway Pulli, Narwal. During checking, one accused namely Vishal S/o Ajay, R/o Ludhiana, A/P Rajeev Nagar, Jammu, was apprehended. Upon his personal search, 275 grams of heroin (Chitta) along with one electronic weighing machine were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 279/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and investigation was set into motion.During the course of investigation, the backward link of the case was established, leading to the arrest of two more accused namely Gogi S/o Neep Ram and Reema W/o Gogi, both residents of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu.
From their possession, 15 grams of heroin (Chitta) along with one electronic weighing machine were recovered.Further sustained investigation and development of backward linkages resulted in the arrest of two additional accused persons, namely Sahil @ Kotto S/o Suresh, R/o Guru Amardass Colony, Narangarh, Amritsar, A/P Rajeev Nagar, and Rocky Singh S/o Late Ram Singh, R/o Rajeev Nagar, Narwal, Jammu. On their disclosure, 55 grams of heroin (Chitta) along with aluminium foil packing material were recovered.
The entire operation was conducted by SHO PS Bahu Fort, assisted by IC PP Narwal and PSI Irshad Ahmed, under the close supervision of SDPO City East, SP City South Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
Police are actively investigating the source of supply and intended destination of the recovered contraband. Efforts are underway to unearth both backward and forward linkages of the drug network.
A financial investigation has also been initiated to trace and attach the proceeds of drug trafficking under relevant provisions of law.Jammu Police once again appeals to the general public to share any information related to drug trafficking or other illegal activities.
