Udhampur, 09 October :- During routine traffic naka at Point Phalata NHW Rehambal, one vehicle bearing registration No. JK13H-8014 coming from Tikri side towards Garhi side driven by Amir Bashir Bhat S/o Bashir Ahmed Bhat R/o Haripura, Kulgam was stopped for checking purpose.
During his personal search, 3.52 gms of heroin like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession.In this regard, Case FIR No. 161/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Rehambal and the accused has been arrested.
In another instance, during routine traffic naka at the same point Phalata NHW Rehambal, one person coming from Tikri side towards Garhi side on foot, on seeing the police party, tried to hide himself which created suspicion.On this, naka party apprehended the said person, who disclosed his identity as Sahil Singh S/o Mohan Singh R/o Mand, Tehsil and District Udhampur.During his personal search, 5.26 gms of heroin like narcotic substance was recovered from hus possession.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 160/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Rehambal and the accused has been arrested.Further investigation of both cases is underway.
