Udhampur, November 10:Police team of Police Team of PP Tikri during routine traffic, stopped one Innova car bearing registration number JK01M-3679 coming from Jammu towards Srinagar for checking purpose.During checking, two persons were found sitting in the vehicle who on questioning disclosed their identities as:Mohd. Yousaf Joo, S/o Ab. Rashid Joo, R/o Pampore, Pulwama,Zaffer Ahmad Bhat, S/o Bashir Ahmad Bhat, R/o Wuyan Bala, Pulwama.
During their personal search, 16.53 grams of Heroin were recovered from their possession. On questioning about the recovered narcotic substance, both failed to give any satisfactory reply regarding its possession.In this connection, Case FIR No. 189/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and investigation into the case has been taken up.
With these arrests, the total number of drug peddlers arrested by Udhampur Police during the current year has reached 164 reaffirming its commitment towards a drug-free Udhampur.
