Two-Day Photo Exhibition on ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ and Key National Initiatives Inaugurated in Far-Flung Marwah, Kishtwar
Marwah (Kishtwar) October 30:The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office Doda, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India, in collaboration with the Institute for Intellectual Development (IID), Doda, today inaugurated a impactful two-day Photo Exhibition in the far-flung area of Marwah.
The exhibition focuses on crucial national themes: Viksit Bharat @ 2047, Three Criminal Laws (BNS, BNSS, BSS), Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), and Vigilance Awareness.Inauguration and Curtain Raiser.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shiekh Zafarullah, DDC Marwah. The event’s momentum began yesterday with a Drawing Competition that served as a ‘Curtain Raiser’ programme, engaging local students and generating initial awareness.Today, after the inaugural ceremony, Sheikh Zafarullah, along with the Guest of Honour, Mohit Gupta, Tehsildar Marwah, inspected the thought-provoking exhibition.
Vikram Uppal, Incharge CBC Doda Circle (Chenab Valley), provided a brief description of the Bureau’s functioning and its role in disseminating information to the grassroots level.Expert Sessions and Keynote AddressesThe event featured detailed keynote addresses from various experts. Dr. Mohd Shuaib Balwan, Director of IID, and collaborator for the event, delivered a mesmerizing speech on Mission LiFE, emphasizing the need for mindful consumption and lifestyle changes to protect the planet, which deeply impressed the audience.Experts from departments like ICDS and RDD delivered key notes on Poshan Abhiyan and their respective departmental schemes.
Notably, Asif Ali Ghani, Officer from Sheep Husbandry, gave a detailed overview on Centrally Sponsored Schemes relevant to their department, which holds immense significance as the majority of the Marwah population relies on these schemes for their livelihood. For instance, he may have detailed schemes like the National Livestock Mission (NLM), focusing on entrepreneurship development and fodder security, or specific sub-missions promoting indigenous breeds and scientific shearing techniques, all amplified by digital platforms for direct benefit transfer.
Ghulam Abass, Director CBC J&K & Ladakh, from the organizing department, articulated the overarching vision behind the program. He emphasized that the collective goal is to bring India into the league of developed countries by 2047, marking the completion of 100 years of independence. He also touched upon vital subjects like Drugs Awareness. He said “Information is a powerful tool; giving information is empowering society,” Abass stated.
He drew a compelling comparison between the need for behavioural change and the consistent work of the CBC in reaching every corner with awareness campaigns. He concluded by stressing that while information is key, it must be coupled with commitment and the willingness of every citizen to shoulder their responsibility in nation-building.
Chief Guest Sheikh Zafarullah lauded the commitment of the CBC for reaching the challenging and far-flung area of Marwah. He declared that the program was not merely an event, but the “start of a behavioural change” initiated by this vital step. He quoted the late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, stating that difficulties do not come to destroy, but to make us realize how difficult we are, implying that the true measure is how we deal with challenges. He urged the public to amplify the messages of the relevant topics brought by CBC, making it a collective responsibility.
Reflecting on India’s development journey, he noted how various governments have tried different means, but now every citizen must take a pledge to make India ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, aligning with the vision of NITI Aayog.Shri Zafarullah underscored the four foundational pillars of Viksit Bharat: Communal harmony, respect, dignity, and love.
He concluded by appealing for the smooth functioning of the four pillars of democracy—Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, and Media—to realize this national dream.The event was enlivened by a wonderful cultural performance by the empanelled troupe of CBC, M/s Ajit Kumar and party, which was highly appreciated by the audience. Following the performances, all dignitaries participated in a symbolic act of environmental responsibility by planting a tree as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.
The successful two-day awareness program concluded first day with the traditional facilitation of the dignitaries by the CBC team, having begun with the National Anthem.
