Srinagar, 08 September: Two Indian Army soldiers, who were critically wounded in a fierce gunfight in the Guddar area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, succumbed to their injuries on Monday. The firefight erupted after a security operation was launched on a specific input regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.
Earlier in the Encounter, one terrorist had been neutralized, while three army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer, sustained injuries.The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army paid solemn tribute to the fallen soldiers, identified as Subedar Prabhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, the Corps stated, “Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts in line of duty for the Nation. Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us.” The Indian Army expressed its deepest condolences and affirmed its unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families of the martyrs. The search operation in the area was ongoing at the time of reporting.
