Tragic Road Accident in Poonch: Two PDD Employees Dead, Two Others Injured
POONCH, February 1, 2026 — A devastating road accident in the Jandrola area of Mandi has claimed the lives of two Power Development Department (PDD) employees and left two others injured. The incident occurred on Saturday when the vehicle they were traveling in lost control near Jandrola, resulting in the immediate death of two occupants.
Local authorities identified the deceased as Kulbir Singh and Chitinderpal Singh, also known as Sanju, both residents of Kamsar village in Haveli Tehsil. The loss has sent shockwaves through the local PDD workforce and the neighboring community.Immediately following the crash, local residents and police teams launched a rescue operation, transporting the injured and the bodies of the deceased to a nearby medical facility for treatment and medico-legal formalities.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr. P.A. Khan, confirmed the fatalities and stated that the two survivors are currently undergoing medical care.
While the specific cause of the accident is not yet clear, the police have officially registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation to determine if mechanical failure or difficult road conditions played a role in the tragedy.
