Tragedy in Poonch: CRPF Constable Loses Life in Accidental discharge

POONCH, April 07, 2026 — A pall of gloom descended on the security forces in the Poonch sector on Tuesday following the tragic death of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in an accidental firing incident.

The deceased has been identified as Constable (General Duty) Abdul Gani, a member of the 38 Battalion and a native of Chak Dayala in the Samba district. According to official reports, the fatal injury was the result of an accidental discharge of a firearm while the constable was on duty.
