Traffic Advisory Issued for Jammu-Srinagar Highway and Alternate Routes; Commuters Urged to Follow Guidelines
Srinagar 17 September :- A Crucial traffic advisory has been issued for vehicles plying on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) and other key roads. On the NH-44, no Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) will be permitted to travel from Navyug, Qazigund, towards Srinagar after 11:00 AM.
Furthermore, in a significant update, no vehicles will be allowed to move from Jammu towards Srinagar at all as per the latest advisory.
Traffic is, however, moving normally on alternate routes including the Mughal Road, the SSG Road, and the Sinthan road in accordance with their respective advisories.
Commuters are strongly advised to strictly adhere to these timings and not to travel against the advisory, as doing so will lead to congestion.
All drivers are urged to follow lane discipline and avoid dangerous overtaking maneuvers, which are a primary cause of traffic jams.
The traffic police have also advised the public to disregard rumors and instead check the official status of roads through their verified social media channels on Twitter at @Traffic_hqrs, their Facebook page, or by contacting the Traffic Control Units (TCUs) in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban at the provided helpline numbers.
