Srinagar 12 August :- Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha flagged off the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from the historical Dal Lake in Srinagar today, where thousands of excited citizens had gathered to pay respects to the Indian Tricolour representing the unification, pride, and common identity of the nation. The rally had enormous turnout from individuals belonging to all spheres of life, who proudly marched along with the national flag, offering tearful tributes to the nation’s forefathers and the courageous warriors who laid down their lives to ensure the Tricolour was held aloft in all its glory.
Addressing, LG Sinha reiterated that while the day was a celebration of India’s spectacular strides, it was also a day for reflection on the duties and obligations of citizens. He appealed to people to capitalize on the successes of the nation and strive to make Jammu and Kashmir a modern and prosperous one, firmly on the basis of the sacrifices offered by the Indian Army, CAPFs, and Jammu & Kashmir Police.In an emotive address, LG Sinha said , “Tiranga is my Dharma. Tiranga is my strength. Tiranga is my heartbeat.” Citing a strong couplet, he stated that , “कर्म हेतु इस धर्म भूमि पर लें फिर फिर हम जन्म सहर्ष”—For the sake of duty, may we again and again take birth on this holy land.” The function ended amidst the ringing of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” echoes over the picturesque Dal Lake, adding more fuel to the patriotic fire among the attendants.
The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ not only strengthened the culture of nationalism but also indicated the collective determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to be a part of the nation’s march towards progress while respecting its glorious history and sacrifices.
