Three drug peddlers arrested,heroin & two sharp edged weapons recovered
Jammu 09 December :- In a major action under the ongoing war against narcotics, Police Station R.S. Pura achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting three drug peddlers and recovering 170 grams of Heroin (Chitta) along with two sharp-edged weapons. The operation marks another strong step in Jammu Police’s intensified crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal substances.On 08.12.2025, a police team of Police Station R.S. Pura led by PSI Shahid Majeed Runyal No.245686/GEC under the supervision of SHO R.S. Pura,Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar while on routine patrolling near Daljeet Chowk, R.S. Pura, intercepted a suspicious Fortuner vehicle bearing registration number T1224DL0672D.
On noticing the police presence, the occupants attempted to flee, however, the alert team successfully stopped the vehicle and detained all three individuals for questioning.During preliminary enquiry at the police station, the accused were identified as Pritam Singh @ Sethi S/o Mohan Singh R/o Jerda, Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba, Narayan Sharma @ Shunna S/o Brita Lal Sharma R/o Vijaypur Ward No.1, District Samba, and Jaspreet Kour @ Preeti W/o Narayan Singh R/o Ward No.1, Vijaypur, District Samba.Personal search led to the recovery of 06.92 grams of heroin-like substance from Narayan Sharma, 07.12 grams from Pritam Singh, and 03.08 grams from Jaspreet Kour.
Further search of the Fortuner vehicle resulted in the recovery of an additional 152 grams of Heroin (Chitta) along with two sharp-edged weapons (toka, khokhri). The total recovery amounted to 170 grams of Heroin (Chitta).
Following the recovery, a case FIR No.229/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29/60 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station R.S. Pura. All three accused were arrested on the spot and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain, financial links and other individuals connected with the illicit trade.Jammu Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards drugs and organized crime.
