Udhampur :- 18 September :- A three-day course on Juvenile Justice, Child Care and Protection commenced today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur. A total of 24 officers from the rank of Sub-Inspector to Senior Superintendent of Police are participating in the programme.
The course was formally inaugurated by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP Dy. Director (Indoor/Trgs), who in his inaugural address emphasized the importance of sensitizing police officers on issues related to juveniles and child rights, ensuring that their approach is both legally sound and compassionate.
The training programme aims to enhance the knowledge and capacity of police officers in handling matters pertaining to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, child welfare, and protection mechanisms. It will cover legal provisions, best practices, and case studies to strengthen child-friendly policing.The course is being coordinated by Inspr. Mohd Ashraf assisted by HC Atul Singh, member faculty.
