Three-day course on “Increasing Menace of Narcotics among Youth – Challenges, Handling and Investigation of NDPS Cases” commenced

Udhampur, 16th October :-A three-day course on “Increasing Menace of Narcotics among Youth – Challenges, Handling and Investigation of NDPS Cases” commenced today at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur. A total of 21 officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police are participating in the course which aims to enhance their professional competence in effectively tackling the growing challenge of narcotic drug abuse and ensuring efficient investigation under the NDPS Act.

The course was inaugurated by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director Indoor/Trgs, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.  Ashish Gupta, SP AD Trgs/R&D also attended the inaugural session.

During the inaugural address, Gupta highlighted the alarming rise in drug abuse among youth and emphasized the crucial role of police officers in curbing this menace through effective enforcement, community engagement, and awareness. He appreciated the efforts of the Academy in organizing such courses that strengthen the knowledge base and investigative skills of the police force.

The course will include detailed sessions on various aspects of NDPS law, investigation techniques, forensic aspects, intelligence collection, and inter-agency coordination in narcotics cases.The course is being coordinated by Chander Lekha, Sr.PO, Assisted by HC Mohd Nasir, member faculty.
