Thana Diwas Observed in Budgam and Awantipora to Strengthen Community Policing and Public Ties

BUDGAM/AWANTIPORA, January 29, 2026 — In a significant move to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the local community, the Jammu and Kashmir Police observed Thana Diwas across District Budgam and Police District (PD) Awantipora.

These high-impact public outreach sessions were held at all jurisdictional police stations and posts, drawing active participation from local residents, trade associations, and public representatives. Chaired by senior jurisdictional officers, the meetings served as a platform for citizens to voice concerns regarding public order, safety, and essential policing matters.

Officers assured the public that all genuine grievances would be addressed in a time-bound manner, while simultaneously urging the community to act as a force multiplier in the fight against drug abuse and the identification of anti-social elements.

Reaffirming their commitment to a people-friendly policing model, the authorities highlighted that these regular interactions are essential for fostering a transparent, secure environment and promoting long-term community welfare.
