Tehsildar Pargwal Issues Official Rebuttal Against Fabricated News Regarding Patwari Arrest

PARGWAL, Feb 20, 2026: The Office of the Tehsildar Pargwal has issued a strong official rebuttal following the circulation of malicious and fabricated news on social media platforms, including a WhatsApp group titled “J&K Police News Group”. The Tehsildar, Manjeet Singh (JKAS), clarified that the viral report—which claimed a local Patwari had been trapped or arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)—is entirely false, baseless, and without any factual foundation.

The official statement emphasized that no such incident has occurred within the Pargwal Tehsil and condemned the report as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of public officials and mislead the general public through a fake narrative.The administration noted that the circulated content sought to create administrative instability and distrust by casting unwarranted aspersions on the functioning of the Tehsildar’s office.

Warning of strict legal consequences, the Tehsildar stated that the matter is currently being examined at an appropriate level, and criminal proceedings will be initiated against those responsible for creating or amplifying this misinformation.
