Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid Takes Over as Deputy Commissioner Baramulla; Pledges People-Centric Governance
BARAMULLA | February 26, 2026 — In a major administrative transition for North Kashmir, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid officially assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla today. The transition took place at the DC Office complex in the presence of a wide array of senior district and sectoral officers, as well as members of civil society who gathered to welcome the new administrator.
Hamid, known for his administrative acumen, arrives at a pivotal time for the district. Upon his arrival, he was accorded a warm reception, signaling high expectations from local stakeholders for a tenure focused on developmental acceleration and administrative transparency in one of the Union Territory’s most strategically important districts.
Immediately after the handover, DC Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid chaired an introductory meeting with the district’s top brass to outline a roadmap for his administration.
