Suspicious PIA Balloon Found Near Grid Station in Samba’s Rajpura; Police Launch Investigation

SAMBA, MARCH 29: Panic gripped the Rajpura area of Samba district on Sunday after a suspicious balloon, suspected to have drifted from across the border, was recovered near the local grid station.

According to official sources, the balloon was found lying along the roadside, sparking immediate concern among residents who alerted the authorities.The balloon, colored in white and saffron, prominently featured the initials “PIA” (Pakistan International Airlines) printed in English.

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Rajpura Police Post rushed to the spot and took the object into their custody. To ensure public safety and rule out any immediate threats, security forces conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area.

Police officials have confirmed that the suspicious balloon is currently being analyzed, and relevant security agencies have been informed of the recovery.

While such balloons are often carried over by wind currents from Pakistan, the police are maintaining a high state of alert and investigating the matter from all security angles to ensure there is no foul play involved.
