Surya Disposers Lead Specialized Counter-IED Training for SSB to Bolster Inter-Agency Security

BARABANKI, March 13, 2026 — In a major move to sharpen national internal security, a high-intensity three-day Counter-IED Training Cadre was recently conducted by the Surya Disposers for personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Shingara Training School.

The program saw the participation of 42 trainees, including two specialized officers, all focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation and operational readiness against explosive threats.

The curriculum was designed to bridge the gap between theory and the frontline, featuring a robust mix of table-top exercises, group deliberations, and rigorous field drills.

By emphasizing response protocols and safety procedures for handling suspected objects, the cadre ensured that personnel are better equipped to identify IED indicators and manage high-pressure scenarios during active operations.

The training provided participants with rare, hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technology, including the Scorpio-based JX platform, modified ALS, and advanced infrared cameras.

Trainees engaged in practical demonstrations of IED mechanisms and familiarized themselves with sophisticated gear such as modern bomb suits, explosives and narcotics detectors, and specialized search systems.

The initiative received overwhelming praise from the SSB personnel, many of whom noted that the exposure to such high-grade equipment was a first-of-its-kind experience.

This collaborative effort marks a significant milestone in capacity building, ensuring a seamless, unified response to the evolving security challenges facing the nation.
