SSP Poonch Strengthens Border Security and Community Ties During Shahpur Thana Diwas

POONCH, DECEMBER 25, 2025: As part of a robust community policing initiative, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Shafqat Hussain, conducted a high-level visit to the border area of Shahpur today.

Accompanied by DySP Headquarters Neeraj Sharma and the Incharge of Police Post Bandi Chechian, the SSP hosted a Thana Diwas to engage directly with local residents. During the session, officials addressed public grievances on the spot, demonstrating a responsive and people-centric approach to local governance.

The visit extended to the border fence, where the SSP personally reviewed civilian issues related to border management and provided immediate ground-level solutions.

In addition to addressing administrative concerns, SSP Hussain utilized the platform to launch a sensitization campaign against the escalating threat of drug abuse, urging the community to play an active role in prevention.

He also educated residents on the New Criminal Laws (NCLs), highlighting the necessity of legal literacy in modern society. While assuring the public of the department’s unwavering support, the SSP issued a stern reminder regarding national security, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities or Anti-National Elements (ANEs) immediately.

He emphasized that any non-cooperation in security matters would be met with serious legal consequences, reinforcing the commitment of the District Police Poonch to maintaining absolute law and order in the border region.
