SSP Benam Tosh Inaugurates Badminton Tournament in Udhampur; Urges Youth to Combat Narco-Terrorism
UDHAMPUR, Dec 30: SSP Benam Tosh officially inaugurated a grand Badminton Tournament today at the Mini Stadium Udhampur, organized by the Den of Shutters Club.
Accompanied by Deputy SP DAR Udhampur Jatinder Singh Sambyal and Deputy SP SKPAU Pawan Sharma, the SSP declared the event open amidst a gathering of student players from various districts across the Jammu division. The opening ceremony saw the participation of prominent figures including Arjun Sharma, President of the Den of Shutters Club, General Secretary Ritik Jandyal, and Sanjay Sharma, along with various social activists and sports enthusiasts.
In a powerful keynote address, Benam Tosh exhorted the youth and student community to dedicate their energy to sports, academic excellence, and social service while strictly staying away from the menace of drugs. He characterized narco-terrorism as a malicious strategy employed by enemy forces to incapacitate the younger generation and undermine India’s national integrity.
Highlighting the gravity of this threat, he called upon parents, teachers, and the general public to proactively intervene and safeguard the lives of the youth from falling into the trap of addiction.The event also served as a platform for social commitment, as the SSP administered an anti-drug pledge to all participants and attendees, reinforcing the community’s collective resolve against substance abuse.
Following the formal proceedings, mementos were presented to the guests and organizers to mark the commencement of the competition. The tournament aims to foster a spirit of healthy competition and physical fitness among the students of the Jammu region, providing a constructive alternative to negative influences.
