MAHARAJGANJ, FEBRUARY 11, 2026: In a significant breakthrough against cross-border narcotics trafficking, the vigilant troops of the 22nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) successfully intercepted a major smuggling attempt at the Trade & Transit Route in Maharajganj.
During a routine security check, the SSB personnel apprehended two suspects and recovered 14 packets of suspected hydroponic ganja, weighing approximately 7 kg. This high-grade variety of cannabis, often cultivated in controlled indoor environments, carries a high market value and was likely intended for illegal distribution across the border.
Following the seizure, the suspects were taken into custody, and the recovered contraband was handed over to the relevant authorities for further forensic analysis. Legal proceedings and a detailed investigation are currently underway to trace the origin of the narcotics and identify potential links to larger international smuggling syndicates.
This successful operation underscores the SSB’s relentless vigil and unflinching commitment to maintaining security and preventing illicit activities along the sensitive Indo-Nepal border.
