SSB Athlete Manju Rani Sets New National Record in 42km Women’s Marathon Walk

CHANDIGARH, FEB 22 :- In a historic display of endurance and speed, Head Constable Manju Rani of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) clinched the gold medal and shattered the national record at the 13th Indian Open Race Walking Competition.

Held on February 21–22, 2026, and organized by the Chandigarh Athletics Association, the event saw Rani dominate the 42 km Women’s Marathon Walk with a phenomenal finishing time of 3:33:24. Her record-breaking performance not only secured her the top spot on the podium but also cemented her status as one of the premier long-distance walkers in the country.

Following this landmark achievement, Manju Rani has officially qualified for the prestigious World Cup Race Walking Competition, set to take place in Brazil on April 12.

The Director General of the SSB (DG SSB), along with all ranks of the Force, extended their heartfelt congratulations to the athlete for bringing immense pride to the service.

As she prepares to represent India on the global stage, the entire Force has conveyed its best wishes for her success in the upcoming international challenge.
