Srinagar Power Cut Alert: KPDCL Announces Scheduled Maintenance Shutdowns for Key Localities
SRINAGAR, February 27, 2026 — The Chief Engineer of Distribution at the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued an official advisory regarding essential maintenance shutdowns affecting several critical feeders and residential areas.
Residents in Salia, Hapatnard, Nagbal, and surrounding sectors should prepare for a four-hour outage on February 28, 2026, from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM due to critical work on the 33 kV Salia Tap line.
On March 1, 2026, the power supply to the Dal area will be suspended from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM for maintenance on the 33 kV Cheshmashahi-TRC-Nedous line, while the Alusteng-Nagbal line will also be under shutdown, affecting Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, and Chunduna from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Further interruptions are scheduled for March 2, 2026, with brief one-hour outages occurring from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and again from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM, impacting high-profile zones including SKICC, Rajbhawan, Centaur Hotel, Nehru Park, and Dalgate.
These technical shutdowns are necessary for grid optimization and to ensure a stable power infrastructure for the upcoming season.
