Srinagar Police Seize ₹1 Crore Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Under NDPS Act

Srinagar, December 20, 2025: In a major crackdown on the financial networks of the narcotics trade, the Srinagar Police has attached a high-value residential property belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the Eidgah area.

The property, a double-storey house situated on 8 marlas of land in Wantpora, Eidgah, is valued at approximately Rs 1 Crore. The asset belongs to Basit Bilal Dar, who is currently facing multiple charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, including FIRs at both Nowhatta and Safakadal Police Stations.Dismantling the Proceeds of CrimeThe attachment was executed under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, following a detailed investigation that established the property was acquired through illicit funds generated from large-scale drug trafficking.

To ensure total transparency and legal adherence, the proceedings were conducted in the presence of two independent witnesses. Under the official attachment order, the accused is strictly prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring, or altering the property until further legal directives are issued.Key details of the enforcement action: Target: Basit Bilal Dar, a repeat offender involved in FIR No. 59/2024 and FIR No. 114/2025.

Asset Value: Approximately Rs 10 million (1 Crore). Legal Basis: Sustained efforts to dismantle the infrastructure supporting illegal narcotics by targeting “proceeds of crime.”The Srinagar Police reaffirmed their “zero-tolerance” policy toward drug trafficking, emphasizing that they will continue to strike at the financial roots of the narcotics trade.

Authorities have also urged the public to remain vigilant and share credible information to help purge the community of the drug menace.
