Srinagar Airport Flight Disruptions: Specific Delhi-Bound Services Cancelled for January 20
SRINAGAR, JANUARY 20: Air travel between Srinagar and the national capital faced disruptions today as the Srinagar Airport Authority confirmed the cancellation of specific flights due to heightened security and ceremonial protocols at Delhi Airport.
According to an official list of cancelled flights for January 20, 2026, two key services operated by Air India Express (IX) and Akasa Air (QP) have been grounded. The affected flights include Air India Express flight IX1980/1017, which was scheduled to arrive from Delhi at 14:10 and depart at 14:45, and Akasa Air flight QP1802/1803, with a scheduled arrival of 13:50 and departure of 14:30.
These cancellations follow the implementation of airspace restrictions to facilitate Republic Day rehearsals and aerial fly-past preparations in New Delhi. Travelers are being urged to stay in close contact with their respective airlines for real-time status updates and rescheduling options before heading to the terminal, as these temporary measures are expected to continue intermittently until January 26.
