Srinagar Airport Flight Cancellations: Heavy Snowfall Disrupts Air Travel; All IndiGo and Air India Flights Called Off
Srinagar, January 27, 2026: Persistent snowfall and adverse weather conditions have severely disrupted operations at Srinagar International Airport today, leading to the cancellation of numerous flights.
The Srinagar Airport Authority, via a series of updates on X, confirmed that continuous light snowfall since the early hours has resulted in significant snow accumulation on airside pavements. While Border Roads Organization (BRO) teams are actively working to clear the snow and restore operational fitness to the runways, the prevailing “bad weather” (WX) has forced airlines to scrap multiple schedules.The disruption has escalated throughout the morning, resulting in the total cancellation of all IndiGo (6E) and Air India (IX) flights to and from the valley for the remainder of the day.
According to the latest data, the list of affected IndiGo flights includes arrivals and departures for 6E5133/6E6854 (Delhi), 6E202/6E203 (Mumbai), 6E6265/6E6266 (Ahmedabad), 6E6497/6E262 (Bengaluru/Chandigarh), 6E6016/6E6780 (Delhi/Jammu), and 6E6757 (Jammu/Delhi).
Additionally, Akasa Air (QP) has cancelled flights QP1637/QP1638 (Mumbai) and QP1802/QP1803 (Delhi).Air India Express operations have also been hit hard, with the cancellation of flights IX1012/IX1037 (Delhi), IX1271/IX1272 (Jammu), and IX1980/IX1017 (Delhi).
The Airport Authority has issued a stern advisory for passengers to remain in close contact with their respective airlines for real-time updates and to coordinate alternate travel arrangements.
Travelers are urged not to head to the airport without confirming their flight status, as en-route weather remains volatile and further delays or cancellations may be expected.
