SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 23: A special NIA court in Budgam has ordered the immediate attachment of over 1.5 kanals of land belonging to US-based Kashmiri lobbyist Ghulam Nabi Shah, popularly known as “Dr. Fai.”
The order, issued by Judge Yahaya Firdous, follows an application by the prosecution under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (now Section 85 of the BNSS) after the court previously declared Fai an absconder in a 2020 case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The targeted properties include one kanal and two marlas of land in Wadwan village and 11 marlas in Chattabugh village.
The court has directed the District Collector of Budgam to take immediate possession of the land after formal identification and demarcation by revenue authorities, while the Senior Superintendent of Police has been tasked with providing any necessary security support to execute the attachment.
