SP Rural Jammu Reviews Border Security and VDG Readiness at Kanachak and Pargwal

JAMMU, January 17, 2026 — In a proactive move to fortify the border security grid ahead of Republic Day and following recent drone sightings in Rajouri, SP Rural Jammu Brijesh Sharma held a series of strategic meetings with Village Defence Guard (VDG) members at Kanachak and Pargwal.

The first meeting, conducted at Police Station Kanachak, involved key officials including SDPO Domana, SHO Kanachak, and BSF Company Commanders. The primary focus was on enhancing inter-agency coordination and executing joint surprise checkpoints (nakas) on critical roads leading from the border to preemptively disrupt any potential threats or untoward incidents.

A subsequent meeting was organized at Police Post Pargwal, where SDPO Akhnoor, SHO Khour, and additional BSF officers joined VDG members to discuss intensified intelligence sharing and localized vigilance.

During both sessions, Brijesh Sharma emphasized the vital role of the VDGs in maintaining public safety and maintaining a robust defense along the border. He commended the volunteers for their ongoing commitment and urged them to remain exceptionally alert and cooperative with security forces during this heightened period of sensitivity.
