SOPORE, J&K | JANUARY 24, 2026 – Preparations for the 77th Republic Day reached their final stage today at the Khushal Sports Stadium in Sopore, where a comprehensive full-dress rehearsal was successfully conducted.
The event saw the active participation of the police, security forces, civil administration, and various educational institutions from across the Sopore Police District. Tehsildar Sopore, Sheikh Tariq, unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute during a disciplined march-past.
The ceremony was attended by ASP Sopore, Mir Murtaza, along with other senior officers from the police and civil administration.The parade, commanded by DySP Akash Kapoor, featured a robust display of coordination from contingents of the District Police Sopore, J&K Armed Police, CRPF, and J&K Home Guards.
A notable highlight was the participation of nine contingents from both government and private schools, showcasing the local youth’s commitment to the national celebration. Additionally, students from four educational institutions presented vibrant cultural programs that added a sense of patriotic fervor to the event.
The seamless execution of the rehearsal reflects the high state of readiness and inter-departmental synergy as the district gears up for the main Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
