Sopore Drug Bust: J&K Police Arrest Peddler and Seize Psychotropic Substances in Continued Anti-Narcotics Crackdown
SOPORE, February 23, 2026 — In a persistent drive to eradicate the drug menace and safeguard the local community, the Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully apprehended a drug peddler in the Sopore region today, recovering a significant quantity of psychotropic substances.
During a targeted operation by a police team from the Fruit Mandi Police Post, officers intercepted a suspicious individual, identified as Mansoor Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Khawaja Gilgit Batpora, as he moved toward the Fruit Mandi from Chinar Crossing.
A thorough search led to the recovery and seizure of Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules, leading to the suspect’s immediate arrest. Following the bust, FIR No. 37/2026 has been registered at the Sopore Police Station, and a formal investigation is underway to trace the supply chain.
